Margaret "Doodle" Barney Bates

Margaret E.(Hammersley) Barney Bates, "Doodle", age 85 of Riverside, went to be in the presence of the Lord on October 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 6, 1929 in Dayton to the late Ollie and Anna (Hammersley) Jefferson. In addition to her parents, Doodle was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Barney, Jr. and Michael "Greekie" Bates; daughter, Cynthia King; granddaughter Alissa King and 3 siblings, Barbara Gelder, Jesse Jefferson and Shirley Rhoades.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Vicki) Barney, Mark (Vicki) and Melody (James) Fox; son-in-law, Bob King; 8 grandchildren, Stevie (MaryJo) Barney, Brian (Amy) Barney, Tiffany (Russ) Crandall, Jeremy (Andrea) Dunn, Erin (Steve) Russell, Alaina (Chris) Holmes, Nick (Kayleigh) Dunn and Kristin (Justin) Hardman; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Wanda Balger, Florene (FG)Truitt, Jerry (Lena) Jefferson and Sharon Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Hospice of Dayton or Dayton Vineyard, in Margaret's memory.
