Margaret Chambliss "Peggy"

Margaret "Peggy" Chambliss, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 83. Born on August 21, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, Peggy was known for her warmth, kindness, and the biggest heart, always putting others first.

Peggy received her education at Roosevelt High School and later attended some classes at Sinclair Community College. Throughout her life, she cultivated a vibrant personality that brought joy to all who knew her. Peggy's interests included playing BINGO, enjoying the beach, and spending cherished moments with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Julia Chambliss (Ledean Dungey), Michael (Sally) Chambliss, and Joan Chambliss. Peggy was a proud grandmother to Chris (Sarah) Chambliss, Elizabeth (Ian) Birthelmer, and Blake (Lainy) Chambliss, as well as a great-grandmother to Lucy, Harrison, Nole, Nora, and Livie. She is also remembered fondly by two sisters-in-law, Lois and Maxine. and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Szakal, and her siblings, Dick, Robert, Betty Lou (Monroe), and Jeff (Sharon). Her legacy of love and selflessness will continue to resonate in the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
