Margaret "Peggy" Ardell Ballard

Margaret “Peggy” Ardell Ballard of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the age of 88.  Peggy was born on April 25, 1938 in Antigo, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Flader) Rammer. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Ballard, whom she married on November 10, 1956 and who passed away on May 11, 2011. Peggy was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenneth Oborne; 4 sisters, MaryAlice Johnson, Joyce Benishek, Phyllis Knapp and Patricia Blahnik; and 3 brothers Thomas, William and James Rammer.

Peggy spent many years working as a Branch Manager for the Dayton Daily News and later she brought her creativity to the floral department at the Meijer Store in Englewood. She truly cherished the time spent with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, traveling and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies and home-made cinnamon bread.

Her loving spirit lives on through her 6 children: Julia Oborne, David (Deborah) Ballard, Lori (James) Cahill, Jeffrey (Anna) Ballard, Janice (Brent) Sipe, Matthew (April) Ballard; along with 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother Michael (Nancy) Rammer, sister-in-law Ruth Ballard and brother-in-law Michael (Sue) Ballard.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00am - 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Centerville, Ohio. Memorial Service to follow beginning at 1:00pm.
