It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marcus C. Adams, who left this world on January 25, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 22, 1940, Marcus was a beacon of strength and compassion in the lives of everyone he touched.
Throughout his life, Marcus was known for his strong-willed nature, which shone through in both his personal and professional endeavors. He was a man who dedicated his life to helping others, always offering a kind word and a helping hand to those in need. His generosity was matched only by his love for his family, particularly his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he relished spending time.
In addition to his family, Marcus found joy in outdoor pursuits, particularly hunting and fishing. These hobbies were not just pastimes for him, but opportunities to connect with nature and create lasting memories, often shared with those he loved.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Pauline Adams, who was his steadfast partner through all of life's journeys. He is survived by his children: Cynthia Maynard (Roger), Loria Maynard, Sherry Crum (Jake), and Ella Miller. The legacy of his love continues through his grandchildren: Katherine, Ashley, Michelle, Melissa, Amanda, Haley, David, and Natasha; and his great-grandchildren: Tayton, Cierra, Isaac, Chloe, Elaina, Rylee, Xavier, Aria, Logen, Regan, Makynzie, and Olivia. Marcus is also survived by two brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will carry forward the values he imparted and the memories they shared.
Marcus was predeceased by his parents, Coy and Ella Adams, his son, Clayton Adams, and seven of his siblings. Their memory will forever be woven into the fabric of his life and the lives of his family.
As we remember Marcus, we celebrate the depth of his character, his unwavering kindness, and the profound impact he had on those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, guiding and inspiring us as we carry his memory forward.
The family will receive visitors and friends from 10:30am to 11:30am on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where Marcus' service will start at 10:30am. Following the service, Marcus will be laid to rest at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
