Luis Martinez, Jr.

Luis "Marty" Martinez, Jr. age 79 of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Kindred Hospital. He was born July 17, 1941 in Laredo, Texas to the late Luis, Sr. and Dora Martinez.

He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force and served two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Wright Patt Air Force Base International Programs and from his second career in Civil Service.

Marty will be missed by his wife of 31 years, Joy; daughters, Laura (Brian) Edgington and Becky Ferrel; grandchildren, Matthew (Candace) Cavallo and Kristen (Nick) Aievoli; father-in-law, Gailard Ketcham; four sisters, Mickey Davis, Marylou Harris, Emma Foster and Dora Ward; and many nieces and nephews.

Marty will be missed dearly. His humor, love for life, kindness and giving person was felt by all that knew him. He leaves behind a great legacy. We know he is in God's presence and looking over us from heaven.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton and again Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The state of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks be work in all public places.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marty's memory to the American Lung Association.
