Lucinda Smith

SMITH, Lucinda Age 98, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center. She was born January 3, 1918 in Cherokee County, South Carolina the daughter of John and Essie (Hemphill) Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Johnnie, Beatrice and Christine; and her brother, Mingo Smith. Lucinda worked for St. Elizabeth's Hospital for 37 years. She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and great sense of humor. Lucinda is survived by her special niece, Jacqueline Smith-Stoudermire; nephews, Hiawatha and Harold Smith; niece Paulette Marks; and a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews as well as many other friends she made during her long and full life.
