Lucas "Luke" Josiah Silva

Lucas Josiah Silva, born on June 20, 1990, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on July 21, 2026. With heavy hearts, we remember and honor a life marked by warmth, devotion, generosity, and endless humor.

Luke was deeply proud to be a father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. Family was always at the core of his heart. His beloved daughter, Halle Silva, survives him and remains a testament to the love and joy he brought into the world. He is also survived by his loving mother and step-father, Helen and Jack Rachels, stepmother Kathy Silva, brothers Jim (Amanda) Silva Jr., Ryan (Kim) Silva, Matthew (Lisa) Silva, and Jacob (Natalia) Lott, and sisters Tanya (Jon) Kaaihue, Maile (Shawn) Smucker, and Summer Lott. His circle of affection extended beyond family, reaching friends who became family in their own right, including, Manny, Mike, Steve and many other dear friends whom will forever cherish his memory. Lucas is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Silva Sr., and his aunt Melodye Dean, whose legacies he honored in his daily life through his own kindness and compassion.

Luke graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2008 and then later went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Wright State University. He channeled his talents and intellect as Head of AI Implementation for RHW CPAs.

Beyond his professional life, Luke delighted in simple and creative pleasures: making slime, for the fun of it, tending to cacti, hiking, and spending time outdoors. Whether on a trail or in his backyard, he relished the beauty of the natural world and shared his enthusiasm with everyone around him. He was also a cologne connoisseur and took great pride in his collection. 

Above all his interests, his greatest pride and love was his daughter, Halle. She was the guiding light of his life and his motivation for all his success. 

Known for his great sense of humor, Luke had the rare ability to lift the spirits of those near him. Silly and goofy, kind and deeply caring, he left laughter and warmth wherever he went. His presence turned ordinary moments into treasured memories, and his legacy is woven into the fabric of every family gathering and friendship.

Luke's devotion to his family and friends was unwavering. He was the person loved ones turned to for support, encouragement, and a listening ear. The bonds he nurtured with each individual in his life stood as a testament to his selfless nature and his enduring love.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m., both at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.

Though Luke has left us too soon, his memory and example will continue to guide and inspire all who loved him. His witty humor, steadfast kindness, and wholehearted devotion remains with us always.
