Lorraine Faye Hall, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Centerville, Ohio, with her loving family by her side. Born on February 24, 1957, in Xenia, Ohio, Lorraine was a beacon of warmth and kindness, touched many lives, and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Lorraine’s career spanned over many decades in the retail fashion industry, where she worked for notable companies including Lazarus, Zayer, Fashion Bug, Goodwill (as a District Manager), and CJ Banks. Her passion for fashion was matched only by her outgoing personality; she loved to dress to impress, embodying the essence of the life of the party. However, it was her biggest heart that truly defined her legacy. Always eager to lend a helping hand, Lorraine had an infectious love for others, making those around her feel cherished and valued. She instilled this same spirit in her family, who were her greatest pride, ensuring they were always cared for and happy.
A graduate of Xenia High School, class of 1975, Lorraine embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved music and believed deeply in its healing power, frequently attending concerts in her youth. Lorraine was an avid fan of comedy, often introducing beloved comedians to those she cherished, and she found immense joy in dancing and celebrating life with her friends. Fall was particularly special to her, as it was her favorite season; she adored throwing little parties with family and friends, filling their lives with laughter and love.
Lorraine had a nurturing spirit and an unwavering dedication to making her home inviting for all who came to visit. She had a green thumb and took pleasure in decorating her house and porch according to the holidays and seasons, reminiscent of her affection for her plants. A treasured part of her life was participating in Secret Santa events with her husband, Mike, to help those less fortunate during the Christmas season. Sharing meals with loved ones brought her immense happiness, as did the laughter and joy that filled the room during these gatherings.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 49 years, Michael R. "Mike" Hall; sons, Grant R. Hall and Clayton M. Hall; grandchildren, Abby and Jacob Hall; her dog, Kaydon and granddog, Roxas; siblings, Jerry Berry, Patty Talbot, Jennie Barnett, and Fred Berry; brother-in-law, Tom Snow; sisters-in-law, Brenda Hall and Deborah Hall; mother-in-law, Barbara Hall; daughter-in-law, Kelcie Severs; as well as several nieces and nephews, Andrew Barnett, Terri Talbott Whitridge, Kathryn Mayberry, and Anitra Gardner.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elfrida Berry, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, followed by a Celebration of Lorraine's Life at 7 PM.
