Loretta Lee Van Meter, age 99, of Beavercreek, passed away November 8, 2025. Loretta was born in Little Fork, Kentucky on April 28, 1926 to the late Robert and Myrtle White.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Houston Berry; husband, Ralph Van Meter; sisters, Madeline, Annabelle and Rebecca; brother, Clyde White; as well as her son, Richard Berry.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon (Bob) Liddy and Susan Berry; brother, Richard (Gene) White; grandchildren, Shannon Berry and Jordan Liddy; as well as her great-granddaughter, Margot Liddy.
She graduated from Poca High School in West Virginia. Loretta retired from Red Cross after many years of volunteer work.
Her faith was very important to her. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, watching old movies and listening to Big Band Era music.
Loretta was a sweet person who was deeply loved by those who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 11:00am.
Loretta will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery following the service.
