Loretta Shackleford

Loretta Shackleford, age 64 of Dayton, passed away May 4, 2011. She was born August 12, 1946 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the late Emmett and Earlene Chance. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Shackleford; daughter, Sheila Strahan; and brothers: William and Donald Chance.

Loretta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Bobby Shackleford; grandchildren: Heather, Patrick, Harley, Taylor, Lensey and Karsin; 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Betty Wilson, Patricia Fleming and Lorraine James; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A funeral service will begin at 1:45 pm on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. Pastor John Lockwood officiating. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Loretta's memory to The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
