Lorene Black, age 92 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on November 26, 2024. She was born August 10, 1932 in Busy, Kentucky daughter of the late John Campbell and Nettie Campbell - Barnes.
Lorene was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She retired for Elder Beerman after 30 plus years of employment in sales. She enjoyed sewing, alterations, and crafts. Her pride and joy was her family and she loved spending as much time with them that she could. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of 63 and a half years, Billie Black; siblings, Burt (Bessie) Campbell, Blanche (Alfred) Szenasi, Geneva (Bill) Shrout, Elmer (Lisa) Campbell, Orville (Lucy) Campbell, and Ronald (Joyce) Campbell; brother-in-laws, Malcom Hughes and George Simpson; sister-in-law, Serena Campbell; son-in-laws, Michael Siegelin and John Meier.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Meier; son, Gary Black; granddaughter, Jennifer Spurlock; great grandchildren, Kyle Siegelin, Skylar and Tyler Spurlock; siblings, Ralph (Carmelita) Campbell, Rose Hughes, Vivian Simpson, Carl Campbell; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424). A private burial will be held at a later time.
