Loren William Daugherty, born on September 22, 1943, at home in Wilmington, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on June 24, 2025. He lived a full life that showcased his many admirable qualities, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
A devoted husband, Loren was married to Glenna for 53 cherished years. He had a loving family that includes, daughters Karen (Kevin) Poindexter and Cheryl (Doug) McKee, his brother, Joe (Sandy) Daugherty, his grandchildren, Meganmarie, Sophie, Andrew, Wyatt, Carly, and Jacob, as well as his great-grandchild, Aiden. His spirit will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, including Ginger (Paul) Metz, Matt (Gordana) Daugherty, Ben Daugherty Jr., Mike (Tara) Murphy, and Emily (Brian) Stephens, along with the rest of the family.
Loren's career spanned many years at Electronic Data Systems, Frigidaire and Kettering Hospital, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his diligence and dedication. He was a graduate of Wilmington Senior High School, Class of 1961, and proudly served in the Ohio Air National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserve.
Beyond his professional achievements, Loren was admired for his kind and caring personality. He had a great sense of humor and a wit that could brighten the dullest of days. His generous spirit was evident in all aspects of his life, especially in the time he devoted to his beloved family. He enjoyed spending quality moments with them, nurturing bonds that will endure in their hearts.
Loren was passionate about pursuing hobbies that brought him peace and joy. He found delight in gardening and birdwatching, where he could appreciate the beauty of nature, and his love for bowling and golfing allowed him to connect with close friends.
Loren leaves behind a cherished legacy and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marjorie Daugherty, his brother Ben Daugherty Sr., and his nephew Mike Daugherty Sr. As we remember Loren, we celebrate a life lived with love, laughter, and a commitment to family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 a Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. A service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd. Pastor Bryan Heil to officiate.
