Lora L. Popella, age 56 of Riverside, OH, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at her home in Riverside. She was born November 5, 1964 in Detroit, MI to William Stackhouse and Sandra Dutiel.
Left to cherish Lora's memory are her husband of 38 years, Jeff Popella; children: Amber (Jordan) Wright, Jeffrey Popella, Marissa Popella, Nicholas (Alina Edwards) Popella, Nathan Popella, and Destiny (Tyler Kimmerly) Deis; grandchildren: Logan and Aubree Wright; parents: William Stackhouse and Sandra Dutiel; brothers: Bart Stackhouse, and Craig (Jenny) Dutiel; mother and father -in- law, Andre and Chloe Popella Sr.; brother-in-laws, Andre Poppella Jr. and Mike (Linda) Popella; nieces and nephews: AJ, Justin, Ashley, Isaac, Ruth, and Nathaniel; long-time friends, Jeanette and Bill Martin, countless pre-school students; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Lora was a very loving, kind, caring, and selfless person. She had a fun disposition, and was a joy to be around. She enjoyed creating all kinds of craft projects, and most recently started taking pottery classes. She always had a project for every holiday, and delighted in creating things for her pre-school students. Lora was a skilled cook and baker. Her white chicken enchiladas were second to none. Her family also looked forward to her many wonderful cakes and cookies. Lora enjoyed camping and creative vacations with her family. She and her husband, Jeff recently bought their dream retirement home at Indian Lake, and looked forward to spending many years there. Her siblings considered Lora to be the best sister that one could hope for. Most of all, Lora enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Lora was preceded in death by her sisters: Cherie Deis, and Cary Dutiel.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH). A Funeral Service will take place Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Helen Parish 605 Granville Pl, Dayton, OH). Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
