Lois M. Guy, née Madewell, passed away on May 6, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 90. Born on November 12, 1935, in Cookville, Tennessee, Lois was the seventh of eleven children born to Charles and Martha (Frazier) Madewell. At the age of eight, she relocated with her family to Dayton, where she later graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1954.
In 1955, Lois married Donald J. Guy in Santa Monica, California. Her life was marked by both personal dedication and professional commitment. She devoted 36 years to DESC, retiring after a distinguished career. Throughout her life, Lois was an active member of the Corinth Blvd. Presbyterian Church, fostering deep connections within her faith community.
Lois enjoyed various hobbies and maintained an energetic lifestyle. She delighted in playing slots and gambling during her leisure time, embraced line dancing with enthusiasm, and remained consistently active through aerobics and sports activities.
Her enduring legacy is reflected in her family. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Guy and Michael (Lilly Dog) Guy; her grandchildren, James (Cheryl) Guy, Nicole (Matthew) Laughter, and Zachary (Alicia) Guy; and her great-grandchildren, Kayla Guy, Alexandra Guy, Raegan Laughter, Will Laughter, Daphne Guy, and Dillan Guy. Lois also leaves behind siblings, James Madewell, Kenny Madewell, and Judy Wolfe; daughter-in-law, Debra Guy; along with numerous extended family members and friends who were dear to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha (Frazier) Madewell; her husband, Donald J. Guy; siblings, Ida Neal, Blondie Mullens, DC Madewell, Irene Howell, Charlene Marsh, Reba Cottle, and Linda Herman; as well as her grandson, Jason Guy.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Lois M. Guy will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 1:00PM at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, located at 1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville, Ohio 45458. This service offers family, friends, and community members an opportunity to honor and remember a woman who lived a full and active life, marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made out to Corinth Blvd. Presbyterian Church in memory of Lois.
