Listen to Obituary

Lois Ann Beverly, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, age 75, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away October 24, 2026. She was born January 22, 1951 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Thomas and Anna Mae Bartee. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Beverly; step-son, Mark Beverly; granddaughter, Cynthia Beaty; and sisters: Leona Moredock and Nancy Lewis.

She is survived by her children: Missy von Neumann (Ron), Carla Knisley (Vince) and David Beaty (Regina); step-daughter, Tammy Beverly; grandchildren: Bubby Galloway (Magen), Dustine Galloway, A.J. Galloway (Kaila), Michael Galloway, Emerald Worden (Josh), Kyle Knisley, Devon Knisley, Stephen Schultz (Christina), Tommy Beaty (Ashley), Zach Beaty and Clinton Beaty; great-grandchildren: Gabe, Zoey, Oakley, Everett, Embry, Kaylynn, Raynn, Tyson, Dexter, MaKayla, Bitty, Levi, Logan, Alex, Tommy, Peyton, Jake, Grayson, Tristan, Trenton, and Atlas; brothers and sister: Mike Bartee (Linda), Brenda Lewis (Chesley) and Jimmy Bartee (Cindy); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

To know Lois was to love her. She had a heart of gold, a generous spirit, and a love for her family that knew no bounds. She was truly the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. Whether you needed a helping hand, a little encouragement, or simply someone to be there, she was always willing to give whatever she could.

Her love for God was an important part of who she was. She recognized the many blessings God had given her and shared those gifts through her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love for her family. She believed that family was one of God’s greatest blessings, and she lived that belief every day. Her faith was reflected not only in her words, but in the way she cared for others and the love she so freely gave.

Of all the things she cherished in life, nothing meant more to her than her family. She was incredibly proud of her children, Missy, Carla and David, and never missed an opportunity to share that pride with others. Her children were among her greatest accomplishments, and her love for them was unconditional.

But perhaps one of her greatest joys was being a grandmother. Her grand-babies held a special place in her heart, and spending time with them brought her immeasurable happiness. Whether she was making memories, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying their company, those moments meant the world to her. She saw each grandchild as a precious gift from God and treasured every opportunity to surround them with love. Family fun days, shopping trips with Dustine and Zoey and teaching the family how to make her world famous fudge were some of her favorite things to do.

She also knew how to enjoy life’s little pleasures. She loved vacations, exploring new places, and, of course, shopping! She enjoyed getting her nails done and always appreciated a little time to pamper herself. And there was something about a beautiful sunset that captured her heart. She loved watching the sky fill with color, appreciating those peaceful moments and the beauty of God’s creation.

She found happiness in both life’s adventures and its quiet moments — whether it was a vacation, a shopping trip, time with her grand-babies, or simply watching the sun set on another beautiful day.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy, not measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the countless lives she touched, the faith she carried, the love she so freely gave, and the family she held so dear.

While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us always. We will remember her generosity, her laughter, her unwavering devotion to family, and the special way she made each of us feel loved.

She gave so much of herself to others, but the greatest gift she ever gave us was her love. Through that love, she showed us the beauty of God’s greatest blessings — faith, family, and the gift of one another.

And now, whenever we see a beautiful sunset, we will think of her. We will remember the beauty she saw in God’s creation and find comfort in knowing that although the sun sets each evening, its light always returns — just as her love will continue to shine in our hearts.

She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
