Lisa A. Hicks

Lisa A. Hicks, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world on February 3, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on May 9, 1963, Lisa was a beacon of joy and love, known fondly by her grandchildren as "Ammaw." Her life was a tapestry woven with the threads of family bonds, warm laughter, and treasured moments spent with those she held dear.

Lisa had a special relationship with her grandchildren, Jacob, Harper, and James, whom she adored immensely. She loved creating lasting memories with them, often taking them on delightful thrift shopping adventures, where every item was a treasure waiting to be found. Her nurturing spirit shone through in every moment shared, filling their lives with love and laughter.

Beyond her role as a grandmother, Lisa had a deep affection for animals, particularly her beloved cats, who brought her joy and companionship. Lisa's playful nature also manifested in her hobbies; she enjoyed playing bingo in her younger years and found solace in word searches and puzzles, relishing the challenges they presented. When it came to entertainment, she was an avid Nascar fan, passionately cheering for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, reveling in the thrill of the races.

Lisa is survived by her devoted children: Jesse Hicks, Heather Mays (Tony), and Jeffrey Hicks (Jessica). She is also lovingly remembered by her dear sister, Leslie Garrett, and her nieces, Ashley Garrett and Melissa Lindsey (Joe). The warmth of her spirit will continue to ripple through the lives of her family and the many friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Hicks, and her parents, James and Jenny Medlock. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved Lisa, as she carries a part of them into the hereafter.
