Lionel C. Daley

Lionel Carl Daley died peacefully at his home on January 18, 2017 at Bethany Village in Centerville, Ohio. He was 88. Lionel was born August 30, 1928 in Dayton Ohio to Gayell Parish Daley and Frank J. Daley, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his four older sisters Dorothy, Frances, Velma, and Lillian, and his four older brothers Joseph, Paul, John, and Donald, and his beloved grandson Ryan Richard Reed.

Lionel proudly served in the United States Air Force for 27 years, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was a Korean War veteran. Lionel is most accurately described as a family man in the most complimentary way. He will be remembered, respected and admired as a wonderful loving, and devoted husband, father and grandfather, inspiring to his family in so many ways.

Survived by his devoted wife Shellie Mae Godwin Daley and their children including their daughter s Marilyn Reed (spouse Rick), and Leslie Daley (spouse Geoffrey Gordon), and their son Richard Daley (spouse Paulette), their grandson James Reed, their granddaughters Ashton Daley and Vanessa Hedger.

A visitation will be held Sunday January 22, from 1-2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering OH 45439. A memorial service will follow at 2pm.
