Linda Sue (Shearer) Williams, age 72, passed peacefully in her sleep after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on May 21, 1953, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Linda was the daughter of Dorothy Shearer and Howard Raymond Shearer, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Karen Gray; brother-in-law, Woodford “Woody” Gray; and 3 nieces, Michelle, Rachel, and Shannon.

Linda is survived by her sons, Johnny Williams and Justin Stephens (Tara); her siblings, Ronald Shearer (Peggy), Howard Shearer Jr., Rita Howard, and Scott Shearer; her grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Kylie Stephens, Gabriel Stephens, Skylen Stephens, and Justin Stephens II; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Rory Williams. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Linda was the kind of person who never knew a stranger. She always looked for the good in people and carried a warm, genuine, and optimistic spirit. She was a strong-willed fighter to the very end, yet kind-hearted, giving, and always willing to help others whether she knew them well or not. She loved spending time with family and friends and found joy in life’s simple moments. She enjoyed fishing, soaking up the sun, thrifting for unique treasures, and taking on endless DIY projects both inside and outside her home. She loved painting yard statues, caring for her “fur babies,” and even kept names for the outdoor critters that visited her yard. Her family lovingly remembers her sense of humor, countless funny stories, homemade recipes, and the many little things that made her unique. Those who knew her best knew her as “happy-go-lucky”.

In accordance with Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated and no formal funeral services will be held. Information regarding a Celebration of Life gathering will be shared by the family at a later date.

Her memory will live on through the family and friends who loved her and through the many stories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
