Linda Gale Howard, of Columbus, Ohio, was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Christopher, on September 29, 2025.
A proud graduate of Franklin Heights High School, Class of 1979, Linda faced a courageous ten-year battle with cancer with the same strength and determination that defined her life.
Linda lived with an unshakable spirit and fierce independence—when she set her mind to something, she made it happen. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, unwavering will, and the way she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her warmth and energy made it difficult for anyone not to love her.
Professionally, Linda worked for many years as an editor, bringing care and precision to every project she touched.
Outside of work, Linda’s creativity shone through her love of crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She had a remarkable gift for crafting beautiful quilts, each one stitched with love. She found joy in long drives with the windows down and music turned up—especially the sounds of Bob Seger and Aerosmith. She delighted in tending to her garden, exploring new restaurants, and getting lost in a good book.
Reading was one of her greatest passions, with favorite authors including Stephen King and James Patterson. Her love for storytelling extended to film, where she curated an extensive collection of horror, science fiction, and fantasy classics.
There will be a gathering held from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek). Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery (720 Clover St, Fairborn).
