Linda Sue Cox

Linda Sue Cox, age 80, of Dayton, Ohio, was born on May 25, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who passed away peacefully with her family at her side on December 5, 2025.

After graduating Belmont High School, Class of 1963, Linda shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Jerry. Together, they created lasting memories with their children, David and Susie. As a proud grandmother, Linda cherished her time spent with her grandsons, Grayson, Adam, Grant, and Andrew, nurturing bonds that will be remembered for generations to come. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest creations.

Among her many interests, Linda had a passion for sewing, cake decorating, crocheting and quilting. Her enthusiasm to create beautiful things to share was matched only by her love of the company she kept, including her connections with friends and family. Linda loved to give home permanents to her friends and neighbors, go to quilting shows with her quilting buddies, classic car shows with Jerry, and trivia night with the gang at The Red Carpet Tavern. She passed along to her children a passion for music that makes you move by listening to Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tina Turner, etc. while cleaning the house. The house may not have been spotless but, man, did it have rhythm!

Linda is survived by her cherished family: the love of her life and husband, Jerry; children, David (Kari) Cox and Susanne (David) Converse; grandchildren, Grayson, Adam (Destiny), Grant, and Andrew; great-granddaughter, Presley; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many in-laws and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. Ivan and Kathlyne Gilbert, her siblings Jacquiline, Geraldine, Judith and James.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432).
