Lillian June Fry, affectionately known as June, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience. Born on September 26, 1940, in Huntington, West Virginia, June flourished throughout her life, embodying the spirit of devotion and community engagement.
June was strong in her faith, and she was also a secretary at Medway Methodist church. June's faith and community was further strengthened as a devoted member of Good Shepherd Neighborhood Church. She and her beloved husband, Larry Fry, were not only devoted partners but also steadfast representatives of their church at the West Ohio conferences, serving their community through unwavering commitment and faith. Their bond was a testament to a love built on mutual respect and shared dreams.
An avid reader, June found a special joy in the written word. Together with Larry, they owned the Page Cage Bookstore in Park Layne, a place that became a haven for book lovers and a cornerstone of their community. Her love for literature extended beyond the bookstore as she actively participated with the Friends of New Carlisle Library, championing literacy and community access to knowledge. Furthermore, her involvement with the Medway Historical Society showcased her dedication to preserving and honoring the rich tapestry of local history.
June's life was a vibrant reflection of her personality, filled with warmth and generosity. She is survived by her adoring children, Kathy Straley (Doug) and Michael J. Fry; her cherished granddaughter, Hannah Withrow (Tyler); her great-grandsons, Hunter and Joel; her sister, Kathy Donley; and many dear nieces, nephews, family, and friends who hold her memory close to their hearts.
Though June has left this earthly realm, she joins her beloved husband Larry; her grandson, Seth Straley; her sister, Elizabeth Gianvito; and her brother, Jimmy Holt. Their reunion in the embrace of eternity will be a source of comfort to those who mourn her loss.
The impact of June’s life resonates in all she touched, her kindness echoing through the lives of her family and friends, inspiring all to carry forward her spirit of love, devotion, and community. She will be profoundly missed, yet forever cherished in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her.
