Lillian Frances Boddie

Lillian Frances Boddie, 83, departed this life on July 26, 2018. She was the oldest of 7 children, born January 7, 1935, to the late Daisy and Jasper Ricks, Sr., in Rocky Mount, NC. A devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to raising the 11 children she bore with her husband of 65 years, Thomas Boddie, Sr. She was an avid Christian and longtime member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, in Dayton, OH.

She is preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas Boddie Jr., and Ricky Boddie, Sr.; daughter Carla Boddie, all of Dayton, OH; sisters, Doretha and Mary Ricks; brother Jasper Ricks, Jr., of Rocky Mount, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Thomas Boddie, Sr.; 5 sons, Reginald, Gary, and Tony Sr. (Angela) Boddie, all of Dayton, OH, Terry (Joy) Boddie, of Woodbridge, VA, and Lee Sr. (Donita) Boddie of Milton, MA; 3 daughters, Kay (Will Sr.) Hill, Lynn (Michael) Beatty, and Sheila (Steve) Tucker all of Columbus, OH; daughter-in-law Carla Boddie of Dayton, OH; brother Ernest Ricks and sister, Hazel Davis, both of Rocky Mount, NC; sister Betty (John) White of Spring Hope, NC; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.

Funeral service will be held at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church (301 Mia Ave., Dayton, OH 45417) at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, visitation 9-11 a.m., family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Interment West Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
