Liam Blaine Shepherd, a bright and courageous soul, passed away on August 11, 2026 in Medway, enfolded in the embrace of his loving family after a heroic battle with cancer. Born on January 14, 2016, in Dayton, Ohio, Liam brought warmth and joy to the world from the very beginning.

Childhood for Liam was a dazzling tapestry of laughter, endless curiosity, and boundless affection—a life vibrantly lived, though all too brief. He attended Union Elementary in the Northmont School District, where his eager mind and gentle spirit touched many. In the classroom, on the playground, and in every moment at school, Liam was known for his kindness and for the unwavering courage he showed, shining even in the toughest times.

Those who knew Liam will forever remember him for his deep love for his family. His parents, Casey Bailey and Steven Shepherd, and his siblings—Alyssa, Landon, Leah, and Riley—were the center of his world. With them, he shared his laughter, dreams, and adventures, filling their days with delight and love. His cherished grandparents, Ronda and Ronald Shepherd, Bobby Bailey, and Charles Harkovitch, along with great-grandfather Robert Hayes, aunts Randi (Thomas) Lamb and Caren Harkovitch, and a special network of friends and extended family, will feel his absence deeply, even as they treasure his memory.

Liam’s heart overflowed with affection for his four golden retrievers: Jersey, Buckeye, JJ, and Millie—the latter holding a particularly special place as his constant, loving companion through both sunshine and storm. He filled his days with the things he adored: plunging into swimming pools, donning the mantle of superheroes (especially Spider-Man), and joining his grandpa Shepherd on meaningful motorcycle rides. Whether exploring new worlds in video games and VR or savoring his favorite foods and laughter-filled moments with his best friend Brady, Liam lived each moment fully and without reservation.

Bravery and love were the twin pillars of Liam’s short but extraordinary life. He was a fierce competitor and a dedicated wrestler, proudly representing the Arrow Elite Wrestling Team through five unforgettable seasons. His commitment, sportsmanship, and spirit inspired both his teammates and his family, embodying everything true heroes stand for.

Liam’s path through life brought together those who loved him most, including his late grandmother Janet Bailey and great-grandmother Shirley Hayes, who now welcome him with open arms. His light, fun, and undauntable courage will echo in memory, carried in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all blessed to have known him.

A visitation to celebrate and remember Liam will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Liam will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Garden, 11890 North Dixie Drive, Tipp City, OH 45371.

Though his presence here has ended, Liam’s story—marked by joy, courage, and boundless love—will remain with us always, luminous and enduring.
