Leslie Alan Greene

June 13, 1930 — February 28, 2024

Leslie Alan "Al" Greene, age 93, of Dayton, passed away on February 28, 2024. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 13, 1930, the son of the late John and Emma Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Janet Greene; sister, Betty Lala; brother, William Green; and his great grandson, Carson Elson.

Alan is survived by his children, David Greene, Richard "Ricky" Greene, Kathi A. Greene and Thomas Greene; grandchildren, David D. Greene, Jeremy Sherman, Jessica Greene, Alexandra Greene, Sara Hughart and Samantha Greene; great grandchildren, Ariel & Kailee Greene, Isaiah, Eliott, Aaliyah, & Isabella Schrieber, Charlie Elson, Samson & Lillian Hughart and soon-to-be, Graice May Hughart; brother, Paul (Carol) Greene; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Alan was a graduate of Stivers High School, Class of 1948. He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. Alan worked at the Mound for many years, where he was a Neutron Welder. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, making model airplanes and boats. He also was a "jack-of-all-trades", who could do almost anything.

Services will be held at a later date by the family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's memory to the Stivers School for the Arts, 1313 E 5th St., Dayton, OH 45402, or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
