Leonard "Lenny" L. Melanson Jr.

Leonard "Lenny" L. Melanson Jr., age 84 of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 5, 2026. He was born December 1, 1941 in Waltham, Massachusetts. The son of the late Leonard and Arlene (Lawrence) Melanson Sr.

Lenny was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him, and he loved a good belly laugh. He grew up on the lake, and had a love for water. Lenny enjoyed playing pool with his friends. His pride and joy was his family and he loved spending as much time with them as he could. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Melanson; sister, Sandy (Dee) Melanson; granddaughter, Danielle Melanson.

He is survived by his wife Lynne (Downey) Melanson; children, Keith Melanson, Michelle Melanson, and Kris (Kristin) Melanson-Brewer; grandchildren, Brittany (Eliot) Mackert and Kaelyn (Lindy) Brewer; great grandson, Boston Krew Melanson-Brewer; host of nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in Lenny's honor to the American Cancer Society and/or Hospice of Dayton.
