Leonard Kern Cate

Leonard Kern Cate, 75, of Middletown, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Atrium Medical Center. Born on November 16, 1950, in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was the beloved son of the late Eniard and Carolyn Cate.

He is survived by his son, Neil, and his wife Kristen; cherished grandchildren, Neila, Ella, and Lennon; and a great-granddaughter on the way. He also leaves behind his sister, Rebecca, and her husband Paul Schnell, along with numerous extended family members and friends.

For 25 years, Leonard operated a successful tax preparation business. He had a profound love for music and reading, expressing his passion through writing music and playing the guitar. Above all, Leonard was devoted to his family and is fondly remembered for his generosity, kindness, quiet demeanor, and intellect.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at New Life Church (3350 Benchwood Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45414).
