Leon E Kazarian (April 13, 1940-October 30, 2020) It's hard to summarize an extraordinary life in few paragraphs. Leon radiated life and energy with a one-of-kind sense of humor. He was a generous, kind soul with an ornery sense of humor. He loved with all his heart and was fiercely loyal to people and causes he cared about.
Leon met his soul mate, Martha and promised her a lifelong adventure which he fulfilled. They were married for over 55 years.
Leon served his country in the Air Force and as a civilian, biomechanical researcher at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He had a PhD and believed one could never obtain enough knowledge. He later decided to leave the government and start his own successful business. During his lifetime he published many papers and received numerous national and international awards in his field of orthopedic and biomechanical engineering that spanned over 50 years.
Leon was a very humble man who dressed in shambles most of the time because he felt it was the inside that mattered most. He was a prolific denim shirt collector and wore his shoes until they had holes in the soles. All animals loved him from deer to raccoons to dogs. At heart, he was an "animal whisperer" and conservationist. He loved nature. A lot of his time was spent outdoors planting trees and cultivating them.
It will be his generous and kind heart that he will be remembered for as well as his crazy eyebrows. He will be missed every day and we are so thankful to have had him in our lives.
Leon is survived by his wife Martha and two daughters, Marlissa Murrell (with husband Monte and children, Garrett and Carson) and Ardi Kazarian (with husband Kelly Millsaps and child, Carter)
