Laura Sue Burchfield, born on March 4, 1968, in Xenia, Ohio, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Vandalia, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and good cheer.
Laura dedicated much of her life to bartending, a career she embraced wholeheartedly. Most recently, she made many friends while working at Buckhorn Tavern in Englewood, where her warm spirit and generosity shone brightly. She was known for making everyone feel welcome and providing a listening ear and a friendly smile, qualities that drew people to her effortlessly.
Beyond her work, Laura had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She enjoyed boating and often would tow her boat up to Michigan for vacation, making wonderful memories along the way. Laura also cherished the ocean and took every opportunity she could to travel to the beach, taking in the salty air and the sound of the waves.
At her core, Laura was a loving and independent soul. She turned her life around through her faith and held a deep appreciation for her community and loved ones. She found joy in many activities—whether it was playing billiards, fishing, backgammon or indulging in a game of Bingo. Gardening was another passion of hers, where she found solace and satisfaction in nurturing plants and flowers.
Laura is survived by her loving family, including her sons Timmy Kuczynski, Daniel (Angela) Kuczynski, and Frank LaNasa, Jr.; her grandchildren Alexis Kuczynski, Elijah Kuczynski, and Victoria Kuczynski; her mother Shirley (Richard) Knott; her step-mother Patty Burchfield; her sisters Teresa Beard and Jett (Timothy) Mittelstadt; and her nephews Eric (Annie) Beard and Tim (April) Beard. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Burchfield. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her spirit will continue to be felt through the countless lives she touched.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 5-8pm at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424. All that loved her are also welcome to attend the funeral service which will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:30 am at Trinity Christian Assembly, 1146 Grange Hall Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45430. Laura will be laid to rest at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia, OH.
