Lata K. Desai, 80, of Dayton, passed away February 24, 2019. Lata was born in India, on June 16, 1938 to the late Bhausaheb and Manorama Mutalik.
Lata grew up in Satara in the state of Maharashtra in India. She was married to late Krishnaji Desai for 52 years before his passing. Lata moved to the USA during 1990s. Here in her new-found homeland, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She took joy in every moment she could spend with her children and grandchildren. She especially adored all four of her grandchildren.
Lata had exceptionally sharp memory. Without any paper or smart phone notes, she remembered all loved ones' birthdays, wedding anniversaries and any other special days. She would make it a point to call and wish on all those special days.
Lata also took pride in living a proud and independent life. Fortunately, god gave her strength and health to stay totally independent until her death. Everyday she used to cook and clean for herself as well as get some exercise going up and down the stairs.
Lata is survived by Son, Shirish, daughter in laws Varsha and Arundhati; and grandchildren Sameer, Sonali, Manasi and Neal.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Cremation to follow the service.
