Larry E. Looney II, age 45 of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away unexpectedly with his father by his side on January 25, 2026. He was born July 20, 1980 in Dayton, Ohio. The son of Larry (Tina) Looney.
Larry who was known as "Doodle" to many, was the life of the party, he had a quick wit, a contagious laugh, and the ability to make people feel comfortable just by being himself. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and lived with intensity. To know Larry was to know warmth, humor, and a heart that felt things deeply. Music was Larry's passion and refuge, it was where he felt most alive. Music connected him to others and carried him through life's challenges and triumphs, whether he was listening, writing, recording, or performing. Larry will be remembered by his fearless spirit, and his ability to be unapologetically himself. His greatest accomplishment was his two children in which he loved deeply and was proud of. He leaves behind countless stories, laughter that still echoes, and a reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and love.
Larry was preceded in death by his best friend, Neil Akers.
He is survived by his children, Larry E. Looney III and Payton J. Looney; parents, Larry (Tina) Looney; siblings, Brian Looney, Stephanie (Billy) Dill, Amanda Looney, and Matthew (Nikki) Looney; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 7pm with brother-in-law, Billy Dill officiating.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1-4pm at VFW Memorial Post 3283, 5074 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. All are welcome to join the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Larry's honor to Newcomer Funeral Home to assist with his funeral arrangements.
