La'Rese Virginia Pollard

La'Rese Virginia Pollard (Mauldin), age 71, of Dayton, Ohio was born August 18, 1948 in Meridian, Mississippi to Will J. Mauldin, Sr. and Lillie Gray Mauldin. She graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1966. La'Rese received her business degree from Thompson Institute. She married her sweetheart, William Pollard, and migrated to the Dayton area in the early 1970's. This union lasted for over 50 years. La'Rese worked at the Dayton Metro Library and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.

La'Rese gave her life to the Lord at a very young age. She was baptized at Delaware St. Missionary Baptist Church. When the family moved to Harrisburg, PA, La'Rese attended Goodwin Memorable Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the choir. La'Rese's beautiful voice brought joy to every spirit she ministered to. While in Dayton, La'Rese attended Faith In God's Way Church. She then joined Lord Of Life/Sycamore Christian Center where she served faithfully for over 25 years.

She was a member of the Board of Trustees Prophetic Ministry, The Word Ministry, Women Of Wisdom, The Praise Team, and Intercessory Prayer Team. La'Rese was a member of AGLOW International, where she served as President and was on the board for many years. She was also an active member of Women of Now Faith Ministry and participated in bible studies regularly with other women of faith in the region. La'Rese was a powerful, anointed women of God, whose faith was undeniable. Serving God was her life's mission, and everything she did was tied to her faith.

In La'Rese's free time, she enjoyed watching movies, especially Lifetime movies. She enjoyed traveling to conferences across the nation, but her favorite place to travel was to visit with her family in Harrisburg, PA. La'Rese adored her family and cherished every moment she spent with them. She ensured that she supported them in all of their activities, even until the end.

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, La'Rese Pollard transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. She is now singing among the host of heavenly angels!

She was preceded in death by her father, Will J. Mauldin, Sr.; mother, Lillie Gray Mauldin; brother, William Jesse Mauldin; grandmother, Lillie Landrum; and her special "Big Momma", Hattie Cooper.

La'Rese leaves to cherish precious memories and to celebrate her life: husband, William Pollard; two sons, Terrence (Amy) Pollard and Tracy (Angela) Pollard; one uncle, Anthony "Butch" Rivers; 6 siblings, Albert (Nellie) Mauldin, Will (Mary) Mauldin, Jr., Lillie (Jeffrey) Proctor, Brenda Mauldin, Joann Chisolm, and Andrew Mauldin; 11 grandkids, Taylor, T'Kayla, Breeze, Trevon, Tanasia, Lilie, Terrina, Evan, William, Noah, and Tavarez; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 am on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:30 am.
