Kristann M. Harrigan

April 20, 1963 — June 15, 2025

Dayton, Ohio

Kristann M. Harrigan, affectionately known as Kristie, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on April 20, 1963, in Sidney, Ohio, Kristie led a life marked by resilience, dedication, and a profound commitment to education, family, and her furry companions.

Kristie was a proud graduate of Meadowdale High School and furthered her academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Wright State University. She continued her education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where she earned a Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation and Philosophy. This academic foundation propelled her into a commendable career as a dedicated adjunct instructor at Sinclair Community College for nearly 30 years. In this role, she transformed the lives of countless first and second-year college students, specializing in liberal arts and development studies. Additionally, she served as a home health aid trainer, sharing her wealth of knowledge with others.

Kristie was known for her strong personality, intelligence, and sense of humor. She approached life with a loving spirit, often expressing her affection through generous hugs. Her stubbornness, while sometimes noted, was part of what made her both endearing and memorable to those who knew her.

Family was central to Kristie's life. She treasured holiday gatherings and family vacations, which allowed her to create lasting memories with her loved ones. She is survived by her aunt, Kathryn Davis; her nephew, Eric Cason; her niece, Jessica Cason; and cousins Chris (Tonia) Davis and Jack (Julie) Davis, along with many other extended family members and friends who will remember her warmth and kindness.

She leaves behind a legacy not only in her professional accomplishments but also through her unwavering independence and courage, having thrived despite living with cerebral palsy. Kristie's love extended beyond her family; she was a devoted furbaby mom, taking great joy in caring for her beloved cats and often spending her leisure time reading the Bible and other books, as well as reminiscing through photographs.

Kristie was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Harry and Daisy Davis; her mother and stepfather, Beverly and James Hartley; her father, Jerry Harrigan; her siblings, Mike Hartley and Gina Hartley; her uncle, Jack Davis; and great aunt, Grace Herman.

Her legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, as they celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible impact she made on the lives of others.
