Kevin Piatt, affectionately known as “Mike,” left this world on November 8, 2025, at the age of 40. Born on October 10, 1985, Mike was a dedicated family man whose love for those around him was evident in every interaction. He was a simple man who found joy in life’s little moments, treasuring quality time with his beloved wife, Erica, and their two adoring children, Mikey and Maddy.
Mike was a proud graduate of Northridge High School, but it was his career at Republic Services that held a special place in his heart. His role driving the trash truck was not just a job; it was part of a larger community where he built connections and friendships. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Republic Services for their extended care and compassion during this difficult time. Such kindness is a testament to the impact Mike had on those around him.
At home, Mike was the epitome of a devoted husband and father. Whether he was firing up the grill for a family barbecue or cooking a meal in the kitchen, every dish was seasoned with love. He created countless cherished memories while spending precious moments with Erica and their children, teaching them the values of love, respect, and family bonding.
Although he faced the profound loss of loved ones, including his dear mother, Rhonda Piatt, and two grandmothers, Mary Piatt and Mary Walters, as well as his granddaughter, Leilani Piatt, Mike’s spirit and legacy continue to shine brightly through his family.
Mike leaves behind a loving family: his wife, Erica, and their children, Mikey (Jamie "Jimmy") and Maddy "Moose"; his father, Kevin D. Piatt; two brothers, Jesse (Elisha) and Jordan (Shannon); He was also a proud grandfather to little Mikey, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his dogs, Copper and Zeus; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all touched by his warmth and kindness.
His uncomplicated approach to life and his unwavering devotion to his family create a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. As we remember Mike, we celebrate the love he shared, the laughter he sparked, and the countless memories he generously gave. His presence will be dearly missed, but his love will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have called him family and friend.
