Kenneth Franklin Keith Summers

October 4, 2017 — June 1, 2018

Kenneth Franklin Keith Summers, born October 4th 2017, passed away June 1st, 2018 at the age of 8 months. He was named after his father and both of his loving grandfather's. Kenneth had a long battle with an undiagnosed genetic disorder, and gave us a lot longer than some of his doctors had expected. He was a tough little man and he made us all proud. I don't think there's anyone out there who knew love better than him, between all of his aunt's, uncle's, grandparents, siblings, cousins, and his parents, he was given a lifetime of love in the little time he was with us.
He was also given many fitting nicknames, Peanut, like both of his Mother's parents were called as babies, Bright Eyes (for obvious reasons), Little Man, (and on the opposite side of the spectrum Tubby Man when he finally gained weight), Baby Kenneth, and probably the craziest one courtesy of his eccentric 6 year old cousin Wolfgang, "Exotic Butters Spiderman Red Blue Because That's Jake's Favorite Color" (Jake being Kenneth's 6 year old brother.) His daddy called him Mr. Grumps and would sing him this silly Mr. Grumps song he made up every time he was upset and it would calm him down. Every morning I would wake up to him sitting on his Daddy's lap looking out the window completely content. He enjoyed being talked to, and especially sang to. His 2 older brothers Seth and Jacob were really protective of him, Jacob would even go so far as to remind us to watch his lines for his G-tube and accuse us of hurting him if he so much as squeaked when we were changing him or picking him up. His sister Shaylah was always connected to him medically, she understood his struggle and frustration because she is a type 1 diabetic. His closest in age sibling, Lyla, 11 months older, was intrigued by him. She always gave him hugs and petted his head and would talk to him, even rocked him in the mornings when she would wake up and walk by his swing or bouncer. She'd also steal his blankets and stuffed animals, but of course she did, what else are annoying older sisters for. He was also a big brother even though he was such a little man, but he never got to meet him as he isn't due until September 25th, but trust and believe baby Michael will grow up knowing all about him. He spent a lot of time at the hospital and in that time he made a lot of unsuspecting nurses fall madly in love, they didn't want to let him go when he was finally able to come home. While he was there he watched Moana a lot so even when he was home it was his favorite movie. It became a daily thing for him to sit in Mommy's lap surrounded by his siblings and his Daddy and watch Moana. We were all able to make a lot of memories with our sweet boy that it would be impossible to list them all here but I'm sure they'll stick with us forever even without the reminder. He is missed, and fiercely loved. We take comfort knowing he's being taken care of now by everyone we've lost before him, including his cousin Becca who was taken from us too soon, also.

Mommy and Daddy love you, you will always be a big part of our lives and with us wherever we go for as long as we live.
