Ken was an author; a creative; a loving, caring, complex, forward thinking, and inspiring human being. His message was love. When he saw someone in need, he lent a hand, a hug, lifted them up, empowered them.
The career that truly meant the most to him began at the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Fairfield, Ohio. Working with and supporting that community meant the world to him.
As an advocate for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities, he went on to create “Ability To Thrive,” an organization where he implemented his unique program of integrated health and wellness. He created a safe space, an environment where everyone could feel it was okay to be exactly who they were.
He and his life partner, Leslie Stewart, enjoyed traveling, writing books, and doing things “their way.”
He is survived by his two brothers, Timothy and Thomas (Lolita); two nieces, Paula Routson- Jordan and Stephanie Routson; two nephews, Gary Biddle and Travis Routson; two great nephews, Tony and Joseph; a great niece, Kayla; and his very special “brother” Nick Williams and the Williams and Townsend families; Debbie McMurchy and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Fern Routson; his sisters, Cherie Routson, and Gloria Routson-Gim.
