Kenneth R. Cox Sr.

Kenneth R. Cox Sr., a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 26, 1943, Kenneth led a life marked by dedication, love, and passion.

A proud veteran, Kenneth served in the Ohio National Guard, embodying a spirit of service that extended beyond his military duties. He spent an impressive 30 years working at Chrysler, where his commitment and hard work contributed significantly to the company during his tenure. After retirement, he enjoyed the fruits of his labor, spending quality time with his family and pursuing his passion for sports.

Kenneth was known for his loving nature as a husband, father, and brother. His family was his world, and he took great pride in their accomplishments. He is survived by his son, Kenneth R. Cox Jr.; his daughter, Cathy Brown; his beloved step-daughters, Gail Hoagland and Pamela (Roger) Gray; and his sister, Helen Pieratt. Kenneth's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kenneth R. Cox III, Xavier A. Cox, Stephen Brown, and Ryan Brown, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

In addition to his family, Kenneth was a steadfast supporter of the Cincinnati Bengals, passionately cheering for his team with loyalty and enthusiasm. He also found delight in watching Formula 1 racing, reveling in the thrill of the sport.

Kenneth rejoins his beloved wife, Janet Cox, who predeceased him, as well as his parents, Sampson and Mary Cox of Oxford State Road in Middletown, Ohio. He will also be missed by his late step-daughter, Suzanne Smith, and son-in-law, Jim Brown.

As we remember Kenneth R. Cox Sr., we honor a man of resilience, intelligence, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will be cherished, and his impact on the lives he touched will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's memory may be made to Ohio's Hospice.
