Katrina "Trina" Marie Spears, a remarkable woman whose life was defined by skill, devotion, and love, unexpectedly passed away on March 15, 2026, in Springfield, OH. Born on August 2, 1985, in Bucyrus, OH, Trina’s journey was marked by a unique blend of talents and an enduring commitment to her family.
Trina was truly a jack-of-all-trades. Her hands brought life to many forms—whether cooking a heartfelt meal, fixing a car with expert precision, or indulging in her passion for metalwork and forging her own knives. She could fix just about anything—and would probably remind us, with a smile, that if it wasn’t working…we just weren’t using enough nail glue. These talents were more than hobbies; they were expressions of her unyielding spirit and creative drive. Above all, Trina’s proudest accomplishments were her children, to whom she was a devoted and loving mother.
Her family was the core of her world. She is survived by her beloved children Malakai Spears, Stevie Creech, and Kamden Spears, each of whom carries forward her legacy of strength and kindness. Trina’s loving presence will also be deeply missed by her mother, Karman Spears; her father, Steve Spears; her sister, Stephanie Henry; and her brother, James France.
While her passing leaves an irreplaceable void, memories of her warmth, laughter, and remarkable skills will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Trina also leaves behind the memory of her son, Dominik Bennett, who preceded her in death, a poignant reminder of both love and loss within their family.
Visitation for Katrina “Trina” Marie Spears will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd in Dayton, OH 45424. The funeral service will follow immediately after, at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Though Trina’s time was far too short, her legacy is enduring—a testament to a woman whose hands shaped more than metal and meals, but also the lives of those she cherished most. She will forever be remembered, deeply missed, and cherished in the hearts of all who had the honor to know her.
