Kathy Srode, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on January 7, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, she lived a life filled with laughter, love, and a generous spirit that touched all who had the privilege to know her.
Kathy was known for her witty humor and an ornery personality that brought joy to her family and friends. Her laughter could fill a room, and her vibrant spirit inspired those around her. She had an innate ability to make others smile, often sharing funny TikToks with her children, and finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Her love for swimming and relaxing by the pool was well-known among her family, who enjoyed countless afternoons in the summer sun with her. Kathy had a deep affection for animals, which mirrored her kind-hearted nature. She truly embodied the qualities of generosity and warmth, creating a welcoming environment wherever she went.
Kathy's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her grandchildren. Spending time with them brought her immense happiness. She is survived by her loving husband, James Srode; her children, Amber Srode and Derek (Kristin) Srode; and her cherished grandchildren, Kilee Srode (Cam), Ariona Stone, Hayden Stone, Nathaniel Stone, "little" Derek Srode, and Dustin Srode.
She is also survived by her siblings, Yvonne Rowe, Linda (Richard) Lanter, Stevie Haddix, and Loretta Brewer; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Haddix, her beloved son, Dustin Srode, and her siblings, Albert Haddix, Charlie Haddix, and Jeff Haddix. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories will remain cherished.
Kathy Srode leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
