Throughout her life, Kathy moved to many places but ultimately found her home in Dayton, Ohio. There, she and her beloved husband, Richard (Dick) Galbraith, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, raised two wonderful daughters. Her family was her pride and joy, and her legacy lives on in them. Kathy was a loving mom to Carolyn Disque and Kim (Jeff) Turner, and a proud grandma to Jeffrey Disque, Michael Disque, Todd (Jesse) Turner, and Nick Turner. She also had the joy of welcoming a great-grandson, Cason Disque, into the family. Her extended family included her brother-in-law, Jim (Nancy) Galbraith, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who all held her in great affection.
Kathy was known as a person of varied interests and talents. An active member of the Eastern Star for many years, she dedicated herself to service and fellowship within her community. Her love of nature was evident in her avid enjoyment of gardening, where she cultivated beauty and life. She was equally skilled with her hands and heart, finding pleasure in crocheting and painting, crafts that reflected her gentle spirit and creativity. Additionally, Kathy was a fantastic cook, sharing her warmth and care through the meals she prepared, nourishing both body and soul.
Her passing is deeply mourned by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and her genuine love for those around her. Along with her parents, Paul C. and Dorothy A. (Duttrow) Swallen, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard (Dick) Galbraith and her sister, Barbara Louise McCoy.
