Kathleen Jane Mackin

Kathleen Jane Mackin, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on October 27, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio.

Kathleen built a life marked by learning, professional dedication, friendship, and an enduring love of activity. She studied social work at Ohio State University and later received a Master’s Degree from Miami of Ohio. In her professional life, she worked as an accountant until retirement and retired from her career as a CPA.

Beyond her work, Kathleen embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She loved being active and spending time with friends, and she was known for having many friends and many friend groups whose lives were enriched by her companionship. She enjoyed playing pickleball, tennis, golf, and Mahjong, and after retirement she traveled, continuing to pursue new experiences and enjoy the life she had built. She was loved by many people, and her warmth and presence will be remembered by all who knew her.

Kathleen is proceeded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Mackin; and her brothers, James, William and David Mackin. She survived by her sister, Joanne; and eight nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Jane Mackin will be remembered for her intelligence, her active spirit, and the many friendships that brought joy to her life and to the lives of others. Her memory will remain cherished.
