Kathleen Marie Hensel

Kathleen Marie Hensel, age 88 of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was born March 14, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio the beautiful daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Decker.

Kathleen worked as a secretary for an Adjutant General at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. While there, she met the love of her life, Norman Hensel. Later on she worked as a nurse as well as various other jobs, but most importantly she was a mom. In her free time, she enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing and raising her 5 children, who kept her busy. She was an avid quilter and also liked creating ceramics with her daughter. Kathleen will be remembered for her sense of humor and her strong will. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma and great grandma who will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Decker; mother, Catherine Decker; siblings, Tom, Sue, Mary, Chuck and Frank.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 68 years, Norman; children, Norman "Chris" Hensel, Michael (Kathy) Hensel, Teresa Hensel, Dwight (Pam) Hensel and David (Penny) Hensel; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Kathy's honor.

Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Luke Catholic Church. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following mass.
