Kathleen "Kathie" Bender

Kathleen "Kathie" Bender, age 73, of Huber Heights, passed away June 14, 2025. She was born April 13, 1952 in Sarasota, Florida to the late Aubrey and Doris Pearson. In addition to her parents, Kathie was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Pearson; and her twin sister, Eileen Chapman.

Kathie is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ken Bender; children: Drew Horine, Brandi (Horine) Penski and Carrie (Horine) Franklin; 8 grandchildren: Deci Horine, Devki Horine, Adam Franklin, John Franklin, Joshua Franklin, Isabel Franklin, Samuel Franklin and Isaac Franklin; sister, Doris (Bob) Dresel; brothers: Allen (Dian) Pearson and Mark (Diane) Pearson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kathie was a newsletter editor for both the Ohio Collision Repair Association and the Heartland Vintage Thunderbird Club of America. She was an active member of her church, loved gardening, puzzles, true crime, but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-4:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where her memorial service will begin at 4:00 pm.
