Katherine M. Whitt

Katherine Marie Whitt, lovingly known as Kate, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, on September 14, 2026. She was 85.

Kate was born on March 17, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, to Charles and Martha Boyce. She was known for being funny, whitty, and very outgoing. Her good sense of humor stayed with her throughout her life and was a part of what made her so memorable to those who knew and loved her.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought people together. Kate loved playing Bingo, spending time with family, and playing cards with family. These moments reflected the warmth of her life and the joy she found in being with the people she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Whitt; her daughter, Martha Ann Whitt; her son, Ricky Whitt; her parents, Charles and Martha Boyce; her sisters, Gail Lapham and Karen Cunningham; and her brothers, Raymond Boyce and Eddie Boyce.

Kate is survived by her sister, Linda Downs, and her nephew, Tony Boyce. She will be remembered with love by her family and by all who shared in her laughter, her outgoing spirit, and the happy times she created around a Bingo game or a family card table.

Her memory will remain a blessing to those who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N. Dixie Drive. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery entrance at 9:00 a.m. on the day of service.
