Katherine Waddell

WADDELL, Katherine (Kathy), age 94, of Washington Township, OH passed away on January 30, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born at Banner, KY to the late Katherine Stratton and Claude Flannery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wes Waddell and daughters Jeanie Fournier and Karen Waddell. She is survived by son John of Washington Township, OH and grandchildren Katie Gradassi and Matthew Fournier of Switzerland. Kathy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Kentucky and was a registered Medical Technologist (ASCP). Upon retiring from Kettering Hospital in 1989 she entered the Physician Assistant program at Kettering College of Medical Arts and enjoyed being back in school. 

She was a member of Fairhaven Church and she loved the Lord. She enjoyed Classical Music and in her younger years was an accomplished pianist, studying piano throughout her university years and performing in a number of concerts. Her most cherished possession was her baby grand piano. She and her husband supported the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and enjoyed attending the classical concerts. Kathy had the opportunity to live in a number of interesting places in the U.S. and abroad during the 20 years her husband served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. 

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
