Katharina "Katie" Gjarmati, age 85, of Kettering passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. Katie was born in Yugoslavia on October 9, 1932 to the late Anton & Magdalena Maas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Gjarmati and brother, John Maas.
She retired from Hewitt Soap Company after 38 years of service. Katie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother "Mommo". She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Katie and Adam were members of the German Club Edelweiss for many years.
Katie is survived by her daughters, Helen (John) Puslat and Ingrid (Gary) Belg; grandchildren, Rachel Puslat and Michael Belg; sisters, Magdelena Habodasz and Barbara (John) Dahlinghaus; brothers, Frank (Barb) Maas and Henry (Carol) Maas; sisters-in-law, Diane Maas (widow of John) and Rosi Tomann of Austria; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6-8pm at Newcomer South Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 12pm at St. Albert the Great, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, OH 45429. Katie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Katie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
