Karl Vaughn Harner, age 77, passed on July 13, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio, to Laura and Kenneth Harner.

Karl spent his career working in quality assurance for the Defense Contract Management Agency. Karl served in the armed forces for over 20 years including the Army where he served in the Vietnam War, Army National Guard, and retired from the Air Force Reserve.

Some of his favorite memories include cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football, coaching football and baseball, supporting the dance team, playing poker, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Karl is preceded in death by his brother Gary and close family Martha, Bob, Sandy, Shirley, Dave, Doug, Tom, and Bill.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pam Harner; his children Dan (Teresa) and Andi (Mike); his grandchildren Hunter, Ashton, Juliet, and Jasmine; siblings Kurt, Kerry (Pam), Cheryl, and Diane; and his sister-in-laws Sherry, Theresa, and Jackie. 

A graveside service will be held at Dayton Memorial Park (8135 N Dixie Dr, Dayton, OH 45414) on Monday July 20, 2026 at 10:00 am.
