Karen Lee Oakes, age 69, of Dayton, passed away July 24, 2020. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 10, 1950, the daughter of the late James and Carolyn Gilbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Larry Roberts.
Karen is survived by her children, Brian Roberts and Diane (Sean) Asbury; grandson, Mitchell Asbury; brother, Kirk Gilbert; nieces and nephews, Kelly, Sean and Tyler; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was a Cake Decorator at Bob & Carl's in Wilmington, Ohio and also at Kroger in Huber Heights. In her free time, she loved to scrapbook, work on various craft projects and watch NASCAR races. Karen will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Sugar Grove Cemetery, 1251 State Route 503 North, West Alexandria, Ohio, at 11:00am with Pastor Sam officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Dayton Children's Hospital, Attn: Foundation, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404-1815.
