Karen Louise Kiser

Karen Louise Kiser, departed this world on July 31, 2026, at the age of 60, in her hometown of Dayton—a place where her journey began on October 17, 1965, and where she found both roots and wings. Karen’s life overflowed with generosity, and in her last moments she gave the ultimate gift: through the donation of her organs and tissue, her compassion endured, offering hope and renewal for others in their time of need. This final act was a perfect echo of the love and selflessness that defined her every day.

Karen was many things—devoted wife, beloved mother, spirited sister, adoring grandmother, loyal friend—but above all, she was the beating heart of her family. She met the love of her life, Ernest Kiser, and together they built a home filled with laughter, joy, and unshakeable bonds. Married since July 16, 1988, they journeyed through life side by side, their partnership offering a lasting example of devotion and steadfast love.

Her greatest pride resided in her family: her son, Brandon Kiser, and his wife Jenna; her daughters, Jaime Weinland and husband Cody, and Crystal Warmack and husband Zackary. The light of her heart shone especially bright for her precious grandchildren—Madison, Emma, Brandon, Alana, and Clara—each of whom carries her legacy of warmth and connection. Her siblings—sisters, Sheri Smith, Rhonda Haller (with husband Tim), and Teesha Beard—shared in childhood memories, sisterly secrets, and an unbreakable sense of belonging. She is also survived by her step-mother, Debbie Bowen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. 

Karen’s friendships were deep and enduring, woven tightly throughout her life. She is lovingly remembered by her dear friends Dave, Tina, Teresa, Jaqueline, Paul, Travis, and TJ—kindred spirits who shared so many treasured moments.

Preceding her in death are her father Ron Bowen, her mother Tara Rodgers, and her step-father Bob Rodgers, whose influence lives on in family stories and cherished memories. She also rejoins her brothers-in-law, Jimmy Smith and Bret Beard, in eternal peace.

Known affectionately as the family’s “domestic goddess,” Karen found profound purpose in homemaking—transforming each house into a sanctuary of laughter and love. She approached life with a passion that radiated outward, gifting every gathering with her infectious laugh and vibrant personality. Her exuberance was unmistakable; she was the life of the party, bold and beautiful, always ready to sing, to dance, and to find the joy in each moment.

Karen’s soul was at ease in nature. She could often be found watching sunsets, their golden hues mirroring the warmth she extended to everyone around her. She held a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats, extending her compassion to all living creatures. Her days were filled with music, dancing, and the simple pleasures of being present with those she loved.

Through every role and relationship, Karen’s legacy endures: generous, loving, and compassionate, she shaped the lives of those who knew her with steadfast affection and a zest for life that will never fade. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, holding close to the memory of her radiant spirit and the laughter that filled every room she entered.

A visitation to celebrate Karen’s life will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m., both at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. All who were touched by Karen’s life are welcome to join in remembrance and in gratitude for the indelible mark she leaves behind.

Though Karen Louise Kiser’s physical presence will be missed beyond measure, her kindness, joy, and boundless love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
