Karen Marie Hudson

Karen Marie Hudson, 67, of Dayton Ohio passed away January 5, 2024, peacefully at the Hospice of Dayton.
Karen was born on February 6, 1956, in Cincinnati Ohio, to Donald Richard Hudson and Maxine Gillespie Hudson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a Child of our Most High God. Karen retired after 27 years of service as an X-ray technician at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Ohio.
Karen loved her parents very much and enjoyed spending time with them. From an early age, she treasured listening to her dad and granddad Hudson tell family stories. When Dad died in 2003, Karen faithfully drove from her home in Dayton to stay with Mom in Owenton every other week-end for the next 12 years, all while working full time.
Karen was a good and loyal friend to many. Her well-natured personality made her easy to talk to, fun to laugh with, and a person to confide in. She was affectionally known as "Sunshine", "Country", "Hud" and "Baby Bear" Karen's generous and kind spirit drew everyone to her with such love.
Karen loved music and taught herself to play guitar around age 12. She played and sang at special events in her church and school talent shows where she received standing ovations. She also performed on a local Christian radio station and many other venues.
Karen had a soft spot for furry friends, especially kitty cats treating each one like a valued family member.
Karen enjoyed the simple pleasures that life offered, such as her coffee and spending time with family and friends. She was loving, caring, and compassionate. One of her most endearing qualities was her sense of humor, she had a kind and generous spirit that drew everyone to her with such love. You will be missed by so many, dear Karen.
She will be missed by many, especially her siblings, Maureen (Robert) Brems, Ronald (Pam) Hudson, and Michael Hudson her longtime companion Linda Crowell; nieces and nephews, Zachary Brems, Lance, Brian, and Robyn Hudson; great nieces and nephews, Hudson Brems, Drew, and Jude Hudson, Taylor Moberly, Aly Craig, and Nora Hudson. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as nieces and nephew, Tonya Rochelle Hudson, Eric Daniel Brems, and Sarah Marie Brems
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 12, 2024, at First Christian Church Owenton in Owenton, KY. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery in Owenton, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
