Karen S. Hampton, a beloved figure in her community and a dedicated family member, passed away on October 19, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital. Born on September 1, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, Karen brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around her.
With a career that spanned many years, Karen excelled as a real estate agent for Caldwell Banker, a testament to her dedication and skill in her profession. Her hard work and expertise earned her respect and admiration among colleagues and clients alike.
Karen was more than her profession; she was a vibrant person whose life was enriched by her passions and interests. A lifelong supporter of Ohio State Football, she never missed a game, cheering on her team with enthusiasm. Her role as a Sunday School Teacher demonstrated her commitment to nurturing the minds and spirits of young learners. An avid creator, she delighted in crafts and sewing, always finding ways to express her creativity. She was a known Diva who loved makeup, art, and music, especially Prince.
Family was the cornerstone of Karen's life. Her culinary skills were legendary, as she loved to share meals with her loved ones. Karen was particularly known for her delicious jerk chicken and Puerto Rican turkey, providing warmth and comfort through her cooking. During the holiday season, her Toffee Brittle was an anticipated treat that brought happiness to family gatherings.
Karen is survived by her son, David D. Hampton, her daughter, Chloe Christina Hampton. She cherished her role as a grandmother to India Ware, Tyjuan Ware, Tayvion Ware, Tatiana Ware, Terriasia Ware, and Tamia Ware. In addition, she leaves behind two sisters, Edna Lynn Stevenson and Beverly Daughtery, as well as three brothers, Earnest L. Stevensen, Terrence (Joyce) Stevenson, and Jeffrey (Valerie) Stevenson. Karen also holds a special place in the hearts of numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Earnest Lyle Stevenson, and her mother, Betty Jane Stevenson. Karen's legacy is one of love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
A visitation in her honor will be held on November 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. During this time, friends and family will gather to remember and celebrate Karen's remarkable life.
